Plot
Gangubai Kathiawadi’s full name was Gangubai Harjivandas, and she was born in Kathiawadi, Gujrat. She was forced into prostitution at a very young age, according to S Hussain Zaidi’s book “Mafia Queens of Mumbai.” She maintained a kotha (brothel) in Mumbai’s Kamathipura neighborhood, and she attracted a number of notorious criminals as clientele. Gangubai made a lot of effort for orphans’ well-being and sex-works.
Gangubai originally aspired to be a Bollywood actress. She was attracted with his father’s accountant when she was 16 years old and ran away with him. They arrived in Mumbai and made their home there. He deceived her just as she was about to embark on a new life with her beloved. Gangubai’s husband sold her to a brothel for Rs 500.
Gangubai had deep contacts in the criminal world, according to S Hussain Zaidi’s book. Gangubai was allegedly raped by a member of Karim Lala’s gang.
