On August 12, 2014, CBS Films bagged the rights to take the 13: The Musical Movie. Bert V. Royal got the chance to write the script for the film. Alongside Laurence, Bob Boyett and David Blackman decided to produce the Movie. On 2019, Tamra Davis accepted the written hand by Bert and chose to direct the 13: The Musical Movie. On September 20, 2019, Netflix fixed the budget to release the Movie on their OTT platform.
On October 28, 2020, Rehearsals started for the Movie. Invitations were sent to different people to attend the screening session, and the good actors got selected for that session. In March 2021, the rehearsals ended successfully. In April 2021, Jonathan Lengel, Ramon Reed, Frankie McNellis, Lindsey Blackwell, Neil Meron, Gabriella Uhl, JD McCrary, and more characters got selected for the casting crew. More screening sessions were undergone in the first quarter of 2021, and actors were released frequently.
On October 28, 2020, prevalent photography sessions started in Toronto. Filming also appeared in New York City, Canada, Beeton, and other locations. All the photography works ended on August 6, 2021.
